Trump is descendant of Norwegian king

On Monday the Norwegian newspaper Nettavisen wrote that Donald Trump is a descendant of the Viking Rurik, who is considered one of the founders of Russia.

It was the Russian newspaper Zavtra that wrote that genealogical data showed that Donald Trump’s Scottish mother, Mary Anne Macleod, stems from the Rurik dynasty.

But after the newspaper published the story, it was contacted by the Norwegian hobby genealogist, Reidun Carstens.

Carstens says she uses the websites Genealogy, MyHeritage and Ancestry, and have linked the family ties between herself and the Viking Rurik, who the newspaper wrote that Donald Trump was related to.

Carstens found, through the same website, that she is also related to Donald Trump.

– Our common grand, grand, grand, grand, grandparents are King Magnus Lagabøte and Queen Ingeborg Eriksdatter, says Carstens to Nettavisen.

Donald Trump originates thus, according to the website Geni.com, from Magnus Lagabøte who was king of Norway from 1263 to 1280.
