It seems even the Grey Cup wasn't immune to the #TrudeauEulogies backlash that permeated the news headlines and dogged the prime minister this weekend.
Before the 104th edition of the CFL final kicked off Sunday night, a video message from Trudeau was broadcast on the screens at Toronto's BMO field, where the Ottawa Redblacks faced off against the Calgary Stampeders. Trudeau is currently in Madagascar leading the Canadian delegation to the summit of la Francophonie.
"As we all know, anything can happen on Grey Cup Sunday,'' Trudeau said. "I'm looking forward to it like everyone else.''
