21-year-old suspect charged with 2nd-degree murder in Abbotsford stabbing

A young man is facing two charges following a stabbing incident in Abbotsford Tuesday, leaving one girl dead and another injured.

According to court documents, 21-year-old Gabriel Brandon Klein has been charged with second-degree murder and aggravated assault.

Police were called at 2:05 p.m. Tuesday with reports of an assault in progress at Abbotsford Senior Secondary.

Chief Cnst. Bob Rich with Abbotsford Police said by the time officers arrived the suspect had been subdued by school staff, and students and staff were administering first aid to two victims with stab wounds.

The victims, who knew one another, were rushed to hospital. Despite all medical efforts, one victim identified as 13-year-old Letisha Reimer, later died of her injuries.
