Box Office: 'Sausage Party' Cooking Up $25M Debut, 'Pete's Dragon' No Match

Adult offering 'Florence Foster Jenkins,' starring Meryl Streep, is doing modest business in its debut; holdover 'Suicide Squad' will easily beat all three new films, but no one's sure how much the anti-superhero film will fall.

Sausage Party, the R-rated animated comedy from Sony and Annapurna, is boiling over at the Friday box office, according to early predictions.

The latest irreverent offering from producers/writers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg is headed for a $13 million Friday from 3,013 theaters for a domestic debut of $25 million to $30 million. Friday's haul will include a stellar $3.3 million earned in Thursday-night previews.
