A Canadian columnist Leah McLaren who writes for Globe and Mail recently wrote a column titled “The Joy of Breastfeeding Someone Else’s Baby”. As bizarre things go, this was definitely at the top of the list. In the now deleted post, McLaren shares how she tried to breastfeed a stranger’s baby without the parent’s permission.
In her column, she writes that when she was 25, she was attending a party at the Toronto House when she somehow wandered upstairs. She came upon a room where she found MP Michael Chong’s baby sitting unattended. She describes how she felt an immediate connection with the baby and is the reason why she picked him up. She then describes in detail how the baby sucked on her pinky finger, which gave her the idea of breastfeeding despite having no milk.
She unbuttoned her blouse and was about to remove her bra when the baby’s father interrupted her in a concerned voice. Chong took the baby from her hands and soon after they left the party According McLaren, the incident was forgotten and there were no harsh words spoken.
